Working cover of Jackson Sugar: WANTED DEAD
This is the rough working cover of the Crazy Red Sequel, WANTED DEAD. Changes will certainly still be made, bu having a working cover is place is motivating. Besides, my cover model (and book illustrator), Victoria Skye Cleveland, is so pretty.

August 21 - Maggie's on a roll! A second great review today on Amazon!
It takes many authors multiple novels to achieve the level of engrossing storytelling that Ms. Craig has with this debut. I was quickly invested and found myself easily relating to and feeling Maggie's ups and downs. As readers, we are always looking to find a part of ourselves in each novel we read and I think everyone will be able to do that with Crazy Red. I also loved the artwork and it was interesting to see how my mental vision of the characters compared to the author's. Five stars - support indie authors!
Thank you so much!

August 21 - GREAT NEW REVIEW FOR CRAZY RED on Amazon today!
Set in the 1960s, Crazy Red, author Kaley Craig’s debut novel (the first in a trilogy called The Jackson Sugar Series), is one of those rare novels that is able to interweave comedy and drama so skillfully that you might have a hard time placing it in one distinct genre. Told from the viewpoint of a young woman, the protagonist Maggie speaks so genuinely about her life that you believe for a little while that you are reading her story from a first person point of view. Craig is able to demonstrate very early on the dark comedic tone of her tale, beginning with a late baptism, ugly skirts, and a mother who is more like an authoritarian figure when it comes to having a place in Maggie’s life—which, when she isn’t trying to manage every aspect of, is tragically absent from. Craig throws you quickly into the story, opting for character strength over fluff and extensive detail.
The story follows Maggie through her coming of age, from childhood to her first marriage with an awful man. It will make you laugh, cringe, and cry, sometimes all within the same chapter if not the same page, and you will be hard pressed to put this book down from the moment you open it. The best part about Crazy Red is that it transcends its setting and characters—you can enjoy it whether you grew up in the 60s or if you’re growing up now, and although told from the viewpoint of an adolescent, the universal message is clear: growing up is about making choices, and these choices affect you for life; it is especially difficult if you feel you are doing it all alone. You will crave reading this novel the way Maggie craves for her love interest Will, and unlike the protagonist, it is one thing in your life that you will not easily be able to abandon. --Phoenix Donovan
